Mission:
Jubilee
Location: Deep Space 5
Billy Sunday had command of the Operations Center. The Captain and XO were about their business. He stood in the center of the Command Information Center as he called it. Around him were the various officers as they manned their posts. Tension was high as the comet approached and the station's population escalated. He checked the status of the station, everything was snafu. "Thank you as you were." He sucked on his unlit pipe. Sunday rarely smoked in the CIC. But it helped him think, and at the moment there was a lot to think about.
Jason was at the door to the Commodore's quarters, waiting for her to start her day. She had been making his team's job easier by staying in her quarters rather than staying overnight with Lasuma. With this many people about, she had begrudgingly granted his request for this. He looked at his PADD which had a copy of her schedule and he shook his head.
'Busy day' he thought.
But even when she should have appeared, there was no sign of T'mpest.
Jason tagged the door chime and said, "Commodore, it is Commander Haines."
Again, there was no response.
Jason said, "Computer, where is Commodore T'mpest."
After a moment, the computer replied, "Commodore T'mpest Michaels is not on the station."
Inside T'mpest's quarters, Lasuma stirred half hearing the second door chime. They had been up late and he took a deep breath smiling as he lifted his face from the pillow. Usually, she was moving about getting ready for her day but he heard nothing. Turning over he looked about...nothing.
Even when she had had to rush out before she had always woke him either with her morning routine or just to let him know she was heading out.
Pulling on his pants he called out. "T'mpest?" Not getting a reply he moved to check if anyone was actually at the door. As the door opened Lasuma saw T'mpest's escort standing there. "Commander?" Glancing back into the room then back to Jason, "Shouldn't you be with T'mpest?"
"I was waiting for her to come out," Jason said. "Isn't she here?"
The concern was clear on his face. "No..." Turning back into the room he called out as he began his search. "T'mpest?!"
"...T'mpest?"
There was no response. It was clear she wasn't anywhere in her quarters. The uniform she'd set out for the day was still draped across the back of a chair.
Picking up his communicator, thinking that perhaps she was trying to surprise him with a breakfast or something he reached out to those at the cafe'.
== Good morning, sir. Woul...==
"Has the Commodore contacted anyone there or stopped by at all?"
There was a pause. == No sir. No one...==
"Thank you contact me immediately if anyone sees or hears from her and send Dorian to my location."
Closing the channel, he looked up to the man that was supposed to be her guard. "Well, where is she?"
"I...don't know. I was supposed to meet her here and escort her to her office." Jason shook his head. "I'm going to talk to security. We'll find her." Then, knowing he had to get on this immediately, he turned and strode quickly down the corridor. He wasn't going to call security here, but he'd get everyone he could on this.
Lasuma watched the officer leave with a frustrated scowl on his face. " 'I don't know' ", Returning to T'mpest's quarters he got dressed and as he finished there was a knock at the door. Grabbing his jacket, he stepped out heading to the nearest lift.
"Let's go."
Dorian was right behind him, "What's going on?"
"T'mpest is missing and Haines doesn't have a clue. I'm not waiting on Starfleet, we are going to find her."
In her quarters, Cara was talking with her dad.
"Hi dad, so I have something I want to talk to you about, something has come up, where my physiology is concerned. I'd like to know something about your past and are you keeping something from me that I should know about? And the same for Mother?"
Cara's father, Adam looked at his daughter through the viewscreen.
"What is making you ask these questions? Has something happened to you?"
"Well you see, dad, I've been experiencing headaches and-| Cara began.
Adam had a concerned look in his eyes. "Cara, when was the last time you've seen your mother."
Cara raised an eyebrow. "Well, it’s been about year or more. And I am 45." she stated. "Why do you ask?"
Adam looked at his daughter, a look of concern in his eyes.
"Cara, I think your mother needs to come see you, I will get things set up." Adam responded.
Cara looked confused. "Dad, what is going on?"
"I think that your mother will need to explain everything to you." Adam responded.
"What about?" Cara asked then she looked behind her. "I'll be right back, someone is at the door."
Cara rising up from her chair to head away from the viewscreen. "It must be David."
"Who's David?" Adam queried.
"Oh yes I need to tell you and mom something. Cara called over her shoulder.
Adam waited for Cara's return, as he waited, he heard something. He wasn't certain as to what that was. A gasp maybe from his daughter.
"Cara?" Adam called out, all he was met was silence.
Adam grew concerned, as his daughter didn't come back. He hung up and messaged the CIC of DS5.
"Hello, is there anyone who can help me out?" Adam Letsul hoping that he will get an answer.
Billy had the CIC and at the moment the place ran like a well-oiled machine. He was informed that there was a communication incoming for the CIC and so Billy had it put on screen. When the image of the man came up Sunday stood with his hands behind his back. "I am Command Master Chief Sunday in at Deep Space Five. May I ask who you are and what is your business sir?"
The dark haired man looked at Billie, his eyes narrowing slightly, then he gave out a slight hmmmn. "I am Captain Adam Letsul, my daughter is Commander Letsul, and the XO of Deep Space Five. I would like someone to go check on her please. I am rather concerned."
The man leaned forward as he perused Billie. "She had left in the middle of a conversation we were having, and didn't come back. I heard what sounded like a slight gasp. And then there was nothing more and in case you are wondering, we were not having an argument. Just something is feeling off. Would you please, send someone to see if she is still there."
Welfare checks were not part of the job and Sunday knew it. However, this was a Starfleet Captain, and she was the station's XO. "Of course, sir. We will have Security get right on it? Once there is something to report I will contact you." When the channel closed Sunday tapped his comm badge. "Computer, locate Commander Cara Letsul."
"Commander Cara Letsul is not on the station."
"Set condition yellow throughout the station. Security Alert One." Billy called out and the lights changed, yellow began flashing on some of the consoles. "Security to Commander Letsul's quarters." Billy sent the order through the comm channels. Wherever the Commander was, the search would begin with her quarters.
