Mission: Jubilee
Location: 14 light hours from DS5
Timeline: Ten hours after USS Ararat

Previously...

Curtis mulled for a couple of beats, then said. "Helm, lay in a parallel course abeam of her port side. Comms, keep trying to raise someone." Curtis took stock for a moment and said, "I'm not going to start beaming over sick persons and bits of atmosphere before we have a handle on what's what. "Lieutenant Tessaro. Take Ensign Olsen, Lieutenant Kosugi and Senior Chief Rylan. Get out the encounter suits, beam over and asses the crew and ship. If it is space-worthy, we'll escort you back to DS5. JG Lamberti, can join you in the assessment. That's about all we can spare."
And now the continuation

START
The away team materialized on the bridge of the VSS Hyut, the lighting dim and ambient temperature reading as overly warm, even for a Vulcan ship. Alert status lighting on the flooring was streaming red and three bodies were slumped at the flight, ops and command stations.

A sharp hiss of air preceded a whispered “oh no!” as Agnetha took on the scene. She winced at once; she hadn’t meant to say anything out loud. She had a little bit of EMT training, but not really enough to do anything for them. So instead, she turned to what she knew- the computers. Thankfully, Vulcans used Federation standard or she’d have to translate everything on the screen. She began to pull up engineering reports and left the injured- or worse- to the real medics.

Raiden scanned around the area, frowning at the sight that lay before them.He went to kneel beside those that were upon the floor, near their stations. His tricorder out, there wasn't any sign of life with these.

Rising up from the floor, Raiden pulled up the schematics of the ship. He looked back towards Agnetha. "Are you being able to pick something up?"

When he asked that question, Raiden looked down at his tricorder. there was a brief blip of something, then it disappeared.

"I just got a signal of something. A brief show of a lifesign or an energy spike."

Rachele looked around what had once been a lively Bridge. She was now wary of any potential attack, her hand instinctively reached for her phaser, her Security training coming to the forefront.

"Lieutenant Tessaro, I'd like to volunteer to accompany whoever you send to investigate the signal, Ma'am." Rachele said.

The bodies in of themself didn't give Annora any pause, she'd seen more than her fair shore over her time in uniform. A quick check didn't show any obvious signs of struggle, which was both concerning and not concerning at the same time. While the likely-hood of an armed attack was lower, something seemingly took out the bridge crew while at their stations. She perked up at mention of a mysterious blip on the tricorder, phaser moving from its holster to her left hand.

"That would be appreciated. Lieutenant Kosugi, it's your signal. You lead the way. The rest of you try and get information out of the computer system as to what occurred. Keep your heads on a swivel, we still don't know the nature of the threat."

Raiden gave a nod, and headed down the corridor following the faint elusive bio signal. He stopped for a moment looking at a body that was slumped against the wall, leaning to one side on the elbow.

When Raiden slipped by the body of the Vulcan male sliding further to where the body was on its side.

"Goldie, are you picking up a higher rating of radiation in the direction we are going?" Raiden was concerned.

Raiden was reading an uptick of radiation but wondered if he was getting the right reading.

"I am," Goldie replied. "Looking for confirmation." She ran a more detailed scan to see if she could get more information or a general location. "Confirmed. Radiation levels are rising, so keep an eye on it."

Annora kept her eyes on the surroundings as the group headed down the corridor. While the tricorder was useful, she knew it often helped to rely more on the five senses, even if those senses were slightly dulled by the EV suit. Thankfully, she had plenty of experience carrying out missions in similar gear. With the talk of increased radiation levels, she decided to treat this less like a hostile threat and more like a rescue mission.

"We're with Starfleet!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the cramped space. "Anyone out there?"

"Lieutenant Tessaro?" Alex said. "You want me to wait up here with you or go with Lieutenant Kosugi in case it is a lifesign?"

If there was someone up ahead, they weren't responding. Annora briefly considered their options.
"You can go with the Lieutenant. Just be cautious. We still don't know exactly what happened."

"Aye, aye, Lieutenant," Alex said, moving to catch up with Raiden. He drew his phaser just in case and made sure it was set to stun. "Like gentleman said, risk is our business." He also pulled out his battered an well-worn tactical tricorder and manipulated the controls one-handed from long practice, using his thumb. The tac-corder was a souvenir from MARSOC.

The closer they got to engineering, Raiden was getting indication of radiation, he was rather happy to be wearing the suit. Lights were blinking and the door was slightly open to it. He stepped closer to have a look when he felt his ankle get grabbed. He gave out a muffled yelp. Looking down he saw the hand which belonged to a Vulcan scientist dressed in a EV suit.

Raiden gave out a call. "I've got someone alive here. Barely." crouching down and wrapping his arms around the chest under his armpits and pulling him out into the corridor.

Alex made a disgusted, if quiet, noise, and then called out without a trace of insubordination in his voice or demeanor: "Put them down right there, lieutenant, and step back please. Right now." Alex scanned the area with his tac-corder, then set it to sentry mode and placed it on the deck next to him. Pulling out his medical tricorder, he scanned the Vulcan. He frowned. "Not as bad as I thought," he said. "The radiation got him, but he's no more radioactive than everything else in here."

Alex tapped his comm-badge. "Lieutenant Tessaro, we've got a live one. We need to get the environmental systems back online and vent as much of this radiation as we can. I can give him Hyronoline, but if he's just going to get dosed again, this is going to be a losing battle. Also, his EVA suit is about to crap out on him. I need to get him out of it. I'm going to give him some Tri-Ox, but that's only a stopgap. This ship is modern enough. It's environmental systems should be able to flush at least some radiation, even what's been absorbed by the bulkheads."

Alex got to work while he waited for Tessaro's reply. "{Long life and prosperity, friend,} Alex said in Vulcan. "{Which I'm going to try and make sure you have.} Alex looked over the Vulcan suit and found the port that aerosol medicines could be administered through. He pulled the proper device from his kit and pushed some Tri-Ox, followed by a dose of Hyronoline. "{That should make it easier for you to breath. What is your name? Are you in pain? If so, where?}" The man didn't seem to have any broken bones or internal injuries, but his EVA suit was on its last legs.

"Warp core has been ejected." the Vulcan uttered quietly before he lapsed into unconsciousness.

Raiden had moved out of the way so that the Vulcan scientist could be seen to. "You do what you need to do>"

The Asian man stepped inside the engine room having a glance around to confirm about the warp core.

"It is confirmed, it is gone," Raiden responded.

"This is probably a long shot, but..." Alex said, then switched to Vulcan. {Computer, activate emergency power, reboot environmental systems, scrub radioactive atmosphere, replenish breathable air supply and gravity to Human standard, and begin ship wide decontamination procedures if you have that capability. Authorization: Federation Emergency Cooperation Treaty}

There was a pause.
