Mission:
Chicken Run
Location: Level 60
Timeline: MD 02 Late Morning
Deck 60-
Matilda was down on Deck 60, with Hannah, "Okay Ace seems to be in a mood, but then with the situation on hand with the craziness of the glitter and the goo invading the station and things going down like it has. Who wouldn't be cranky."
As she led the way into the main generators for the station. The lights turned on and she looked around, "Do you see any glitter here? And wouldn't or shouldn't we be looking at the transporters instead?"
"None." Hannah replied. "Probably, I think Grumpy Pants, just wanted to get rid of us."
Matilda pulled out her PADD to send a message to both P'ril and Ace.
"We're down on Deck 60 haven't spotted any glitter or goo as of yet."
Matilda looked over to Hannah after she had texted P'ril and Ace as coms were down
"Actually, I wouldn't refer to him as Mr. Grumpy Pants. He is Lieutenant Ace Cannon, and seriously, with the things that are happening on the station. I'd be a bit grumpy myself." She wasn't going to engage in gossiping about Ace, she and Hannah have work to do. "Let's just see about getting the station back online."
Matilda will check on Ace later on. She might have been angry with him yesterday, but she wasn't today, she was just concerned.
"Okay, let's get to work" Matilda even though Hannah was basically an upper rank than Matilda but she didn't care.
For the next hour, Matilda searched through the generator room that kept the station going. She had lights go out and shone the flashlight to see if there were any sort of glitter or goop that was down there, crawling everywhere, she drew in a breath, and not seeing any sign, she texted Ace and P'ril.
"After thoroughly checking on the power generators. there is no indication of any glitter or even purple goo down here. Thankfully. What have you found? Or do you wish us to go head out and see about starting clean up? Could we utilize a filter where the transporters are concerned and maybe make a glitter dust magnet and the same for the goo to try to separate them from the animals and the transporters?"
Ace sighed. He did not want to talk to Tilly but he was pleased with this bit of good news. "No. Science and Medical will handle the goo. Right now, I need you to protect those generators from contamination. Segregate them from the rest of the systems and then move on to the transporters. I want to know if there has been any tampering with them that allowed these things onto the station."
"All right, Lieutenant Cannon." Matida responded
Hannah hadn't found any glitter or goo, but she had found a dead vole. It had made its way into one of the auxiliary systems and been roasted alive. It was a quick fix, and wearing gloves she had removed the pest and put in in a portable stasis box, for sciences to examine, it didn't appear to be infected, but better safe than sorry.
Returning to Matilda she said. "Sorry about the "Grumpy Pants" remark, but I found this." She showed the younger woman the vole. "Poor thing."
Matilda sucked in her breath through her teeth. "Good Heavens and it also looks like the vole traps are working. We can't have these things multiplying upon the station, they will chew on the conduits and cause a lot of problems. I am not going to say poor thing. it doesn't belong on the station." she was rather vehement about that matter. "And you are forgiven on the part of calling Lieutenant Cannon grumpy pants just don't do that again though, please. Its not becoming for an officer to say that while on duty."
A look around once more, Matilda gave out a sigh. "Okay lets do what Lieutenant Cannon had requested, segregate the power source to make certain they do not get contaminated and put up some protective force field around it. Then get to the transporters and see what we can do there."
"Agreed." Hannah said and started isolating the infected systems.
After this Matilda was determined she was going to take out to dinner and do some drinking, the poor man was going to need it after all of this, and the same for P'ril.
Between Hannah and Matilda, the work that Ace had requested that they do, it was accomplished after a couple of hours. Dusting off her hands Matilda looked at Hannah, "Next stop transporters. And we've got quite a few to do." Matilda stretching her back a bit to adjust it.
"Maybe the main transporter, we'll start from there, and figure out how to get rid of the glitter. Wait, actually better to do something wiht one that isn't the main one, just in case something gets messed up. If we find the solution though then we can get things back online." Matilda called up the map of the station, upon her PADD. She wanted to experiment with a transporter as far away as she could from the Main transporters.
"Lieutenants Cannon and P'ril, we're going to head down to transporter room, 90. I know that the transporters are offline but perhaps we can isolate that one and see about creating a filter of some sort, something that will attract the glitter from the transporter, or even create a program that will do so? Maybe even see about finding a pattern in the transporter buffers before the glitter invasion?"
“That is an excellent idea,” agreed P’ril, wondering why she had not thought of it. “If science has a chemical makeup of the substance, programming the transporters should be possible. However, those are a big if and should, respectively.”
Ace Cannon puffed proudly at P'ril, visibly showing her that he was not just a pretty face. Wait! But that's how I'm known! As a pretty face! We can't give anyone the wrong idea like I can do work then I'll never have time for the ladies! Ace called back snidely, =^= Glad you're following instructions for a change, Cromwell. I'll look forward to your results. =^=
Matilda was about to sign off when it occured to her. "Lieutenant Cannon, and P'ril is someone working on coms as well, to get communications up? It might make things easier to move things along if we can do communication via the comms. Maybe even reoroute the relays. Or even get some workerbees to create a different communication relay?"
Why can't she ever just do her damn job? She's not a chief. She isn't even a junior grade lieutenant. My God, she is bossy! =^= Ensign T'Vren is working on that. Just concentrate on your assignment, Ensign. =^= There was a slight snide tone when Ace mentioned T'Vren's name.
Matilda stared at her PADD at the recorded message Ace sent. She was just trying to offer some suggestions to him, like being part of a team. She quietly put away her PADD, turned to Hannah "I'm going to head to the transporter on deck 90" leaving the area.
